He was really amazed by how it filled the gap for people who were caught between high monthly premiums and high deductibles. He observed that people in that situation were avoiding care because they hadn't met their deductible. He felt compelled to bring the Medical Membership model to San Antonio where it helps to make healthcare affordable again.
