This location is a wonderful place to visit with kids. The kid-friendly hikes and good environment make it a perfect spot for a family outing. The boardwalk over the Salado Creek offers a smooth and wide path for runners, walkers, and cyclists. The elevated boardwalk is also elevated and not prone to flooding. The signs at both ends of the boardwalk are a nice touch, honoring Army Staff Sergeant Christopher Morningstar, who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country. The surrounding wildlife, including frogs, deer, squirrels, and ducks, add to the beauty of the location. Unfortunately, the lack of shade along the boardwalk can be a problem, especially during hot days. Overall, it's a great place to visit, but a bit more attention to this issue would make it even better. The combination of natural beauty and tributes to a local hero make it a must-visit destination in San Antonio.
