This museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in trains, particularly those who love model railroading. The sheer scale and attention to detail of the layout is awe-inspiring, with intricate scenery and multiple trains running at the same time. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, providing a warm welcome to visitors and taking the time to explain the history and operation of the trains. The museum is a great place for families, with children able to get hands-on experience with model trains and learn about the history of railroads in Texas. The museum's layout is also a great way to spend a few hours, with plenty of interesting details to discover and explore. The museum is free to visit, with a small donation appreciated. One of the standout features of the museum is its commitment to education and community. The staff is passionate about sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for model railroading with visitors, and the museum offers a range of resources and activities for visitors to learn and engage with. The museum's partnership with the San Antonio Model Railroad Association also adds to its credibility and expertise. The only downside to the museum is its limited opening hours, which may make it difficult for some visitors to plan a visit. However, the museum's website provides clear information about its opening times and offers a range of options for visitors to plan their visit in advance.Overall, the museum is a fantastic resource for anyone interested in trains and model railroading, and its commitment to education and community makes it a valuable asset for the local community.
